Welcome to The Robin Hood

This welcoming pub is popular with the local community providing a convivial atmosphere, good food and an excellent range of ales, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits. Managed since 1998 by Max Rawson, following in the footsteps of his mum Jean, who has owned 'The Robin' since 1990, the strong family input is maintained with Jean still actively involved in creating the ever-changing menu and overseeing preparation of both bar snacks and main meals. There are separate lunch and evening menus with a wide range of tempting dishes for all tastes.
The Robin Hood has the honour of being the very first pub to sell Enville Ale, as brewery owner, Wil Cort used to live close by. Legend has it that the first barrel was wrung dry within half a day!! Enville is still the most popular pint here along with the other local bitter from the Bathams brewery.
The history of the pub can be traced back to 1836 when a row of dwelling houses was built, one of which became the beerhouse. In the intervening years many changes have taken place but the Robin Hood has remained a warm and friendly place to spend time with friends, with its comfy burgundy seating in three intimate groupings around dark wood topped cast iron tables, a real open fire and walls filled with interesting artefacts and pictures.
The food here is of a very high standard and remains a key ingredient in its success. A traditional Sunday Lunch menu is also available in the main restaurant which is on a split level offering large group settings or intimate candlelit tables for couples.

The vast menu includes:
Robin Hood Pie - Beef in Guinness Gravy Classic Steaks from the Griddle
Cajun Chicken Breast in a sweet chilli dressing Minted Lamb Casserole in a large Yorkshire Pudding
Homemade Faggots and Mushy Peas Seafood Pasta in a creamy cheese sauce
Rainbow Trout in a white wine and mushroom sauce Szechuan Chicken Stirfry with spicy oriental sauce
Classic Desserts and Puddings Bar snacks, LiteBites & A La carte Menus

Always on tap: Enville Ale, Everards Tiger, Bathams Bitter, Guinness, Fosters, Carling, Stella Artois, Stowford Press and Strongbow plus a good selection of guest ales.
