The Plough & Harrow is an intimate traditional pub - a former Holts house, now owned by Punch Taverns, on the corner of Worcester Street and Heath Lane near the gates of Mary Stevens Park. It began life as a brewhouse in around 1845. The owner, John Perks was a glassmaker and most of his customers worked in the glass making industry for which Stourbridge is famous.
Later, in the early twentieth century, owner Henrietta Moorcroft kept the pub for FORTY years, when brewing on the premises stopped. These days, Lindsey and Steve Jeffs keep a delightfully traditional pub with a horseshoe shaped bar well stocked with a good range of ales and spirits. And talking of spirits, there's a friendly old man (in a brown mack) who 'appears' now and again in a window seat just as he probably did a hundred or so years ago - so be prepared - in case he asks for a pint.
As for entertainment, well, our darts players are lousy, we have no projection telly, so you won't get neck ache looking up, but we do have regular music quizzes and traditional board games. We offer interesting meals on a 'World Food' theme and great beers and a good range of wines and even a beer garden with occasional barbecues. Being next to the park is a pleasant bonus too.

We aim to produce interesting meals using fresh ingredients supplied locally. The menu is small but with a good balance of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes which changes on a weekly basis. Booking is advisable though there are usually one or two tables available.
We pride ourselves on the cask-conditioned (real) ales we offer.
Marstons 'Pedigree', Enville White and Greene King IPA are constantly on tap, Whilst Shropshire 'Pride' and Pardoe's 'Entire' are regulars amongst a constantly changing range of guest beers. Alongside the popular Carlsberg, Castlemaine XXXX and Stella Artois lagers, we also sell Murphy's Irish stout and Tetley's Smoothflow. Strongbow is our resident cider offering.
