Located in the leafy Stourbridge suburb of Norton, The New Inn is, quite simply, an outstanding pub with tradition, character, high standards and an excellent range of well kept ales and spirits - especially whiskies.
Robert and Jayne Vickers, have impressed their own personalities on the pub, primarily because they treat it as their home - unlike many pubs these days. Since their arrival in 1996 they have transformed The New Inn into one of the most popular pubs in the area. Bob, a keen golfer, is an ardent fan of Enville Ale - or perhaps we should say his customers are!! The exceptional quality of Robert's beer keeping was recognised quite some time ago with maximum marks from Cask Marque - on every single beer! A rare feat indeed. This dedication to quality goes much further too with the Slogan 'No Compromise - Simply The Best' emblazoned across the staff's shirts.
Dating back to the mid-19th century, The New Inn has been extended over the years, yet is one of the few traditonal pubs with a distinction between the atmospheres in the bar and the lounge. The bar retains much of its traditional fixtures and fittings with leather seats and stools and no jukebox! Traditional bar games (darts, cards, cribbage and dominoes) are regularly played here. The pub also has several musical instruments to hand for impromptu singing sessions!
The New Inn provides bar snacks and sandwiches throughout the week and The Wednesday Supper Club proves highly popular when either Jayne or Bob don the apron to cook up a dish for the regulars. There are also the occasional themed nights where everyone is encouraged to participate in frivolity and fun. A keen golfer, Bob runs an annual competition, which he has done for several years, where the winner gets a trophy and a specially commissioned caricature, a copy of which hangs in the bar, where the trophies are displayed.
An excellent range of ales and spirits on offer
You'll always find Adnam's Bitter, Ansells Mild, Bass, Enville Ale and Greene King Abbot Ale at the bar and a staggering range of 138 (at the last count) Whiskies including an ever-growing range of Single Malts (96 and growing!). Then there's Stella, Carling and Carlsberg lagers, Strongbow, Scrumpy Jack and Dry Blackthorn ciders, not to mention Guinness and Tetleys.
The New Inn is a Punch Tavern less than a mile from Stourbridge town centre off the B4186 South Road and Glebe Lane.

The lounge, an L-shaped room, has three distinct themes in different sections. The 'Poppy Corner', where a range of splendid prints and a marvellous pastel drawing of a poppy field decorate the walls. The Clown corner features interesting prints and figures. Then there's the Golf corner - Bob's passion. Lots of books, trophies and prints of courses.
